How to Exfoliate Bikini Area

Don’t skimp on aftercare. This is a very important step post-Sugaring.

While Sugaring is a pretty straightforward process, there are some things to bear in mind in terms of aftercare… especially when it comes to your lady bits or man parts. After having a Brazilian done, it’s important to wear loose clothing that allows your skin to breathe. Avoid working out or sitting in a tub, Jacuzzi, sauna, or anything with high heat. 🔥 Your area “down” there will likely be more sensitive and thus prone to bacteria. While showering is permitted, it’s recommended that you wait an extra 24 hours. The same goes for skin-to-skin contact (yep, that includes sex 😯).

In 2-3 days after your sugaring session start by exfoliating the areas in question 2x a week. You can also apply an ingrown hair prevention serum every day.

How to Exfoliate Bikini Area

Your skin naturally sloughs off old cells and generates new ones, but sometimes your body needs a little extra help in speeding up the turnover process. Exfoliating does just that. Without proper exfoliation, the older skin cells — as well as the debris that comes with them — can trap in bacteria by blocking the pores.

To exfoliate the bikini area, scoop a bit of your aftercare scrub out of the container and into your hands. Mix in water and/or your favorite shower gel. Then, use your hands or a soft washcloth to gently scrub along your bikini area. Final step: Let the mixture sit on your skin for 1-2 minutes and rinse well! 💦

Due to the area’s naturally sensitive nature, you’ll want to avoid over-exfoliating. Scrubbing the mixture too hard on your skin could result in redness and pain. Not to mention, make your skin more vulnerable to sun damage.
